Standard

Fatty acids are, in part, composed of oils and are considered essential or non-essential. Essential fatty acids are those that are not naturally produced by the body while non-essential fatty acids are produced by the body. Essential fatty acids must be obtained through taking supplements, foods, or a topical application. Fatty acids are a result of the breaking down of fats that produce a chain of hydrocarbon. Fatty acids are a must in order to have healthy skin.

So, what do fatty acids provide the skin? Fatty acids provide nutrients but in a variety of ways as each has different properties. The skin can be enhanced by fatty acids through moisturization, penetrating the skin, and helping with conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. The anti-microbial, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and anti-viral properties help to ease itching and skin ailments.
